Prior to getting this product, I hadn't used anything but a flat-iron to style my hair, both in terms of straightening and curling, in a very, very long time. I had seen tons of videos and tutorials online that utilized clip-less curling wands, so I was really curious to see what one would do with my hair, which is long, thick, coarse, "wurly," and prone to frizz. Ultimately, I was pretty impressed by this wand.There are a lot of things I like about this product: it heats up quickly (it seems to take a tiny bit longer than the 30 seconds mentioned on the box, but not much more than that), and the medium-size curls it creates are pretty, smooth and soft, and though they fall a little bit by the end of the day, they hold their shape much better than any curl or wave I've ever created with a flat-iron. I have a lot of hair, so this saves me a lot of time. It takes much longer when using a regular clamp curling iron.The way I do my hair with the wand is super quick and gives my hair a perfect, relaxed, beachy curl. This one comes with a glove, which is nice even though I honestly only used it when getting used to the wand. Amazing wand at a great price. The 2 minor things I don't like about this wand is at the end there is a rubber tip with 2 small raised dots when for you set the wand down. When sliding your hair off the wand the raised rubber dots catch a small strip of hair, pulling it from the ring you've created. And lastly the heat dial gives you no real indication of how high or low you're setting it besides little notches. I have another tool that has the degrees on the dial ring so you know where to set it for your hair type. Other than that I love this thing! I can finally crate Hollywood-esque waves and curls in a snap. It doesn't take long to heat up and the style actually lasts. For years I have avoided curling my hair because the style would fall out within a couple hours since I have such fine hair. Not anymore with this Remington tool! I go to sleep and wake up the next day with my hair still looking great. My hair is 2-3 inches passed my collarbones so the 1-inch barrel works perfectly. |
